What does repository transparency look like in practice?
FIDELIS has published a growing collection of repository-specific Transparent Trustworthy Repository Attributes Matrices (TTRAMs), demonstrating how repositories with different missions, communities, and levels of preservation activity can apply the same framework while reflecting their unique context.
The published examples span a diverse range of repositories, including the Finnish Social Science Data Archive, UK Data Service, DANS, Sikt Research Data Archive, DisProt, DOME Registry, STRING Database, and PANGAEA.
Experiences show that populating a TTRAM helps identify what information is already publicly available, what remains internal, and where greater transparency could strengthen trust and improve communication with users, funders, and assessment bodies. The exercise also helps clarify responsibilities within organisations. TTRAM provides a practical framework for self-assessment, continuous improvement, and preparation for the evolving requirements of EOSC and the wider trustworthy repository landscape.
Repository managers interested in exploring the approach can access the published TTRAM examples and use them as inspiration. FIDELIS welcomes additional repository examples, particularly from generalist and disciplinary repositories, to further strengthen community guidance and shared practice.
