RDR (https://dataverse.csuc.cat/) is a federated and multidisciplinary data repository that allows Catalan universities, CERCA research centres and other research entities to publish sets of research data in a FAIR way and following the guidelines of the EOSC.
The governance of RDR is shared between the participating institutions and the coordination is undertaken by the Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC). The CSUC is a consortium that provides services and shared infrastructures for teaching, research and knowledge transfer, which reach citizens, andwhich allow greater efficiency of the Catalan research and knowledge system.
Each institution participating in RDR is assigned its own institutional collection within the repository through an instance. The distribution of responsibilities between the CSUC (RDR manager) and the participating institutions is regulated incollaboration agreements. This document regulates the rights and responsibilities between the CSUC and the collaborating institution.
The repository uses an open-source software called Dataverse, developed by Harvard University, and currently it uses version 6.4. This software allows each institution to have its research data in a personalized institutional instance. Thus, each institution participating in RDR is responsible for the publication and curation of the research data of its researchers and the management of the collections and sub-collections within its institutional instance.
