International Data Week takes place every two years and is the leading international conference on research data. It is jointly organised by the International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA) and World Data System (WDS), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA). It combines the RDA Plenary Meeting, the biannual meeting of this international member organisation working to develop and support global infrastructure facilitating data sharing and reuse, with SciDataCon, the scientific conference addressing the frontiers of data in research organised by CODATA and WDS.
The overarching theme of International Data Week and SciDataCon 2025 is Data For Positive Change.

SciDataCon Persistent Themes
Representing EOSC EDEN, Dr. Laura Molloy from The Committee on Data of the International Science Council (CODATA) will present a paper describing the approach taken on a major new global survey by the project. The survey is designed to improve understanding of current practices in this area, as well as the frameworks, standards and guidelines that support digital preservation professionals when tackling these challenges.
In her presentation, Dr. Molloy will situate the survey work in its wider context, describe the approach to question development and analysis, and share the anticipated insights from the findings, with an overview of the analysis and results gathered so far.
