Data Week Leipzig is a week-long event dedicated to exploring the scientific, economic and social dimensions of data and its use. The event brings together participants from government, industry, academia and business, creating an interdisciplinary networking event for knowledge exchange and collaboration. The programme offers diverse sessions, trainings and workshops exploring the latest trends such as artificial intelligence, digital cities and data-driven innovation. This year's event will have special emphasis on climate and energy-related topics. Training courses, hands-on learning and networking opportunities are also open to students, trainees, start-ups and public sector representatives.
Monday, 1 June, 14:30 - 16:00 CEST: Micky Lindlar, The EOSC EDEN Re-Use Fitness Framework: What, how, for whom, and why to preserve?; in a session on “Digital data lifecycles: management, archiving, and AI-supported indexing”.
EOSC EDEN will take part in the session “Digital data lifecycles: management, archiving, and AI-supported indexing” which examines the digital lifecycle of public information, from its creation and compliant storage to long-term archiving and reuse as open data. During the session, Micky Lindlar from TIB-Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology will present an overview of the growing challenges of long-term digital preservation, focusing on how data is identified, selected, and sustained over time. The presentation will offer insights into EOSC EDEN’s goals and progress to date, while engaging with key questions around what data should be archived, how it can be preserved, and for whom.
