Offene Archive Conference 2026

9 June 2026 15:30–17:00
Cologne, Germany

The Offene Archive (“Open Archives”) conference of the German Association of Archivists brings together archivists, representatives from academia, and a broad audience of people interested in the digital transformation of archives. It is an established venue to discuss topics such as public outreach, citizen science, digitalization and innovative approaches to accessing and using archives.

The three-day conference features a range of sessions and workshops, but at its heart is the BarCamp on day two, known as ArchivCamp. It has no predefined agenda but follows an open and participatory format to foster collaboration and lively discussions around emerging themes and current challenges. Participants collectively shape the programme by proposing topics, sharing ideas, and choosing from a range of parallel sessions and workshops to co-create new perspectives and initiatives.

Tuesday, 9 June 15:30 to 17:00 CEST Workshop 2 – OAIS, PREMIS, DIN 31644….?! – Don’t worry – long-term digital preservation starts with you!

Maria Benauer from TIB-Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology will give a workshop on the newly developed Core Preservation Processes (CPPs) of the EOSC-EDEN project. The session will showcase how CPPs can be effectively applied as a practical tool for everyday digital preservation workflows and as a framework for collaborative learning.
